Our Story

A beautiful lifestyle setting of hand-woven Mazari palm roti baskets and fruit bowls with teal and fuchsia patterns on a wooden dining table.

Ancestral Craft. Modern Utility.

SHKOR was born from a desire to preserve the tactile rituals of the past while celebrating the extraordinary skills of women artisans. Our name honors the traditional vessel that has sat at the center of the family table for generations. We believe that a home is most beautiful when it is filled with objects that tell a human story, crafted with intent and built to last.

The Mazari Leaf

Our collection is defined by the resilient Mazari palm. Harvested from the wild landscapes of Pakistan, these silvery green fibers are sun-cured to achieve a natural luster and a leather-like durability. Unlike mass-produced alternatives, Mazari is a superior, 100% organic material that ages beautifully, transitioning from a cool sage-tan to a warm golden honey over time. It is a gift from the earth, refined by hand.

Empowering the Weaver

At the heart of SHKOR is a commitment to female financial independence. Each piece is hand-coiled by our collective of women artisans, providing them with fair wages and a platform to showcase heritage skills that have been passed down through centuries. When you bring a SHKOR piece into your home, you are directly supporting the autonomy and creative spirit of the woman who wove it.

We invite you to embrace a slower pace of living and discover the soul of the handmade.

What is Mazari Palm?

It is a wild-harvested, high-tenacity dwarf palm native to the rugged terrains of Pakistan. Known for its natural moisture resistance and durability, it has been used for centuries in traditional weaving.

Why does my item look slightly different from the photo?

Every SHKOR piece is 100% hand-woven. Minor variations in weave, color shade, and dimensions are not defects—they are the "fingerprints" of the artisan who made it.

How do I clean my Mazari basket?

Simply wipe with a damp cloth and air dry. Avoid soaking in water or using harsh chemicals, which can damage the organic fibers.

What is the delivery time within Pakistan?

Domestic orders are processed within 2–4 days and usually arrive at your doorstep within 3–5 business days.

Can I return my order?

We offer a 15-day return policy for items in their original, unused condition. Please contact shkorshop@gmail.com to start a return.
